You have been created to know God in a personal way and to have a relationship with Him, through His Son, Jesus Christ.
How does a relationship with God start?
RECOGNIZE THAT WE ARE SINNERS
No matter how good we try to be in life, we are still tremendously far from being a good person.
“Because there is no difference, because all sinned, and are destitute of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
This is so because we are all sinners. The Bible says:
“They all went astray, to one they became useless; There is no one who does good, there is not even one.” Romans 3:12.
But the Word also indicates that we can be freely forgiven through Jesus Christ (“being justified freely by his grace, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” Romans 3:24).
RECOGNIZE THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED ON THE CROSS FOR YOU
The Bible tells us that God showed his great love for us, Christ died for us when we were still sinners. In the book of Ephesians we have these precious verses:
“And he gave you life, when you were dead in your crimes and sins, in which you once walked, following the current of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now operates in the children of disobedience, among which all of us also once lived in the desires of our flesh, doing the will of the flesh and of the thoughts, and we were by nature children of wrath, just like the others. But God, who is rich in mercy, by his great love with which he loved us, even though we were dead in sins, gave us life together with Christ (by grace you are saved), 6 and together with him he raised us, and also made us to sit in heavenly places with Christ Jesus, to show for centuries to come the abundant riches of his grace in his goodness to us in Christ Jesus. ” Ephesians 2: 1-7
This is the good news that God loves us so much that he sent his only Son to die in our place when we least deserved it.
YOU MUST REPENT OF YOUR SINS
The Bible tells us: “Repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be blotted out.” The word repent means to change our direction in life. Instead of running away from God, we can run towards him.
YOU MUST RECEIVE CHRIST IN YOUR LIFE
Becoming a Christian is not simply believing any creed or going to church. It is having the same Christ residing in your life and in your heart. Jesus said:
“Behold, I am at the door and knock; If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with me. “Revelation 3:20.
Therefore each one of us is going to have messengers who are going to tell us about Christ and invite to receive it in our hearts (preachers, friends, family …) and / or a multitude of channels (television, internet …).
If you want to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and the Bible also teaches us that we must do it with a prayer, using our mouth, and with all our heart.
“That if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10: 9
PRAYER TO RECEIVE THE LORD
We invite you to:
Please read this sentence carefully, and
Put your hand on your heart and repeat the prayer again asking with all your strength each of the things in this prayer.
“Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner. Right now, I repent of my sins and open the door of my heart so that You, Jesus Christ enter my heart and my life. I confess with my mouth and with my heart that I believe that you came into the world and died for me on the Cross and I wish to have you as Lord and personal Savior. I ask you to write my name in the Book of Life and teach me the Word of God and make me a new creature according to your will. Thank you for saving me. Amen. “
