The following is an exposition of all the biblical verses related to the subject of homosexuality.

This is not a Bible study but a list of verses on the subject of homosexuality in both the New Testament and the Old Testament. This is not intended to give any kind of opinion, reasoning, appreciation, or judgment. The sole purpose is to make it easier for those interested to read what the Holy Scriptures say about it.

NEW TESTAMENT

1) Romans 1:26-27 “For this reason God gave them up to degrading passions. Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error.

2) 1 Corinthians 6:9 “Do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived! Fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, sodomites,“.

3) Hebrews 13:4 “Let marriage be held in honor by all, and let the marriage bed be kept undefiled; for God will judge fornicators and adulterers.”

4) 1 Timothy 1:9-10 This means understanding that the law is laid down not for the innocent but for the lawless and disobedient, for the godless and sinful, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their father or mother, for murderers, fornicators, sodomites, slave traders, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to the sound teaching

5) Ephesians 5:5 “Be sure of this, that no fornicator or impure person, or one who is greedy (that is, an idolater), has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6) Galatians 5:19 “Now the works of the flesh are obvious: fornication, impurity, licentiousness,”

7) Colossians 3:5 Put to death, therefore, whatever in you is earthly: fornication, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed (which is idolatry).

8) 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from fornication; that each one of you know how to control your own body[a] in holiness and honor,

9) Jude 1:7 Likewise, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which, in the same manner as they, indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural lust,[a] serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

10) Revelation 21:8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the polluted, the murderers, the fornicators, the sorcerers, the idolaters, and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

11) Revelation 22:15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and fornicators and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

OLD TESTAMENT

1) Genesis 19 Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. In summary, the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah went to Lot’s house knocking on the door because they wanted to rape their two guests (who were angels). Lot offers his daughters in exchange but they insisted that they loved the guests and that they loved him too. The angels blind all these people who wanted to rape in a group. 2) Leviticus 18:22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.

3) Leviticus 20:13 If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death; their blood is upon them.

4) Deuteronomy 23:17 None of the daughters of Israel shall be a temple prostitute; none of the sons of Israel shall be a temple prostitute.

5) Judges 19: 16-24, Biblical passage showing the actions of a group of Benjaminites who wanted to gang-rape a man. Their acts were condemned as extremely bad. You can read the biblical passage in the following link.

6) 1 Kings 14:24 there were also male temple prostitutes in the land. They committed all the abominations of the nations that the Lord drove out before the people of Israel.

7) 1 Kings 15:11-12 Asa did what was right in the sight of the Lord, as his father David had done. He put away the male temple prostitutes out of the land, and removed all the idols that his ancestors had made.

8) 1 Kings 22:43,46 He walked in all the way of his father Asa; he did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord; yet the high places were not taken away, and the people still sacrificed and offered incense on the high places. […] The remnant of the male temple prostitutes who were still in the land in the days of his father Asa, he exterminated.

9) Ecclesiastes 7:29 See, this alone I found, that God made human beings straightforward, but they have devised many schemes.
